Launching Wednesday, it is the SharkNinja-owned brand‘s first LED system designed to treat both the face and body, targeting eight aging zones: forehead lines, crow’s-feet, frown lines, lines around the lips, smile lines, neck, chest and hands.
According to Chris Hedges, vice president of design and engineering for Shark Beauty, the most challenging engineering problem during development was figuring out how to provide fit and LED coverage across the body. He looked to the CryoGlow mask, which fits a range of face shapes and sizes, for inspiration.
“We employed a similar approach for the body panel, educating ourselves in this area by speaking to subject matter experts, from optical design specialists who helped drive a custom engineering simulation that optimized the light reaching the consumer’s skin, to dermatologists and aestheticians, who use light therapy in their clinics,” Hedges said.
CryoGlow Clinic is billed as Shark Beauty’s most advanced LED device so far. The brand claimed it delivers twice the power of the original mask for antiaging results, while expanding its reach to the neck, chest, back and hands.
A custom optical simulation, which can predict how the light traveled from the device and reached the consumer’s skin, mapped to different anthropometric head forms, was implemented to guide LED placement and distance from the skin, Hedges said.
“We were able to learn how that light behaved in terms of power density delivered, evenness and coverage. Those insights were then worked back into CryoGlow’s design as we took an iterative approach to development,” he added.
The device also includes instant hot and cold under-eye contrast therapy, designed to combine clinical benefits with a spa-like feel.
“CryoGlow’s hot and cold under-eye therapy is enabled by a custom Peltier-driven thermoelectric cooling design we developed in-house. In every session, the device will deliver the same thermal experience to a controlled and set temperature in both hot and cold modes,” Hedges said.
In hot mode, the under-eye thermal pads help boost circulation and deliver a relaxing, sensorial experience. In cold mode, the skin will vasocontrict the blood vessels under the eye area and provide a depuffing effect.

According to Meg Barr, senior marketing director, skin care at Shark Beauty, CryoGlow Clinic is meant to mirror how customers were already using Shark Beauty’s tools.
“We had seen that our FacialPro Glow and, in particular, the DePuffi attachment had been used on the neck and surrounding areas by our users, prompting us to look at areas beyond the face in more depth,” Barr said.
“We are really proud that it’s our most advanced LED device to date. At its core, our ambition is simple: bring clinic-inspired skin care technology into the home, in a way that’s genuinely easy to use,” she added.
While CryoGlow Clinic is intended as a full face-and-body system, it also offers consumers modular options.
“With options to purchase face only or body only, our customers can start with what matters most to them and build their routine from there or add the body panel to a Shark CryoGlow mask they already own, rather than committing to a full new system from Day One,” she said.
Looking at the wider picture, Barr said CryoGlow Clinic “reflects the direction we see the category heading, toward more advanced, clinic-inspired treatments that people can confidently use at home to complement in-clinic treatments and therapies.”
“This launch was developed with our engineers in partnership with dermatologists and skin scientists, and it’s the most technically advanced skin product we’ve released, so it’s very much a signal of the ambition we have for the brand,” she added.
With more colorways developed in line with trending tones and palettes coming later this year, Barr said Shark Beauty will continue to “invest in bringing powerful results into the home.”
