The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) is restructuring leadership across several of its key luxury beauty brands as the company prepares for the December retirement of longtime executive Sandra Main, creating a new leadership configuration spanning La Mer, Estée Lauder, Aerin, Darphin Paris and Lab Series.

The changes place Justin Boxford in a newly created position as global president, Luxury Beauty Brands, while Erica Kwok will become senior vice president and general manager of Estée Lauder. Magalie Parksuwan, meanwhile, will continue as senior vice president and general manager of La Mer while taking on additional oversight of Darphin Paris and Lab Series.

The appointments come as ELC works to strengthen its brand portfolio and build on a fiscal 2026 return to sales growth. The company's full-year results, announced in August, showed organic sales growth of 3%, with the company pointing to broad-based brand growth and improved operating margins. The leadership changes therefore arrive at an important point in ELC's effort to reignite growth across its prestige portfolio.

Boxford's promotion represents the most significant expansion of responsibilities in the new structure. In his new role, he will oversee La Mer, Estée Lauder, Aerin, Darphin Paris and Lab Series, bringing several luxury-focused businesses under a common leadership umbrella.

The move also reunites Boxford with La Mer. He previously led the brand from 2017 through 2022 before moving into leadership of Estée Lauder. According to ELC, his tenure at La Mer included expanding and diversifying the brand's product portfolio, reinforcing its luxury positioning and accelerating its digital and omnichannel presence. ELC describes La Mer as the world's No. 1 luxury skin care brand.

Boxford returns to oversee La Mer at the global level, while Parksuwan maintains day-to-day brand leadership.

As mentioned, the arrangement also gives Boxford responsibility for Estée Lauder, Aerin, Darphin Paris and Lab Series, potentially creating greater opportunities to coordinate strategies across a group of brands operating at different points within the luxury and prestige spectrum.

Kwok will become senior vice president and general manager of Estée Lauder, ELC's flagship brand, which spans skin care, makeup and fragrance and is sold in more than 150 countries.

Kwok has more than two decades of beauty-industry experience, including 15 years with Estée Lauder. She joined the brand's global organization from Asia/Pacific in 2021 and subsequently took on responsibility spanning marketing, product development and global growth.

ELC highlighted her role in recent launches including Double Wear and Glimmer, as well as her work to integrate the brand's major growth drivers. In the new role, she will work closely with Boxford as the brand moves forward.

Jane Hertzmark Hudis, ELC's executive vice president and chief brand officer, characterized the appointments as evidence of the company's leadership bench and its commitment to developing talent from within.

Parksuwan will remain responsible for La Mer as senior vice president and general manager, reporting directly to Boxford. Her remit will also expand to include Darphin Paris and Lab Series, where she will support Pierre-Olivier Garcin, senior vice president and general manager of those brands.

Parksuwan brings experience across skin care, fragrance and makeup, as well as expertise in consumer behavior and distribution across major international markets. ELC said those capabilities will support La Mer's next phase of growth while also strengthening Darphin Paris and Lab Series globally.

Her expanded role gives the new structure a three-tier leadership model: Boxford overseeing the broader luxury portfolio, Kwok running the flagship Estée Lauder brand, and Parksuwan maintaining direct operational leadership of La Mer while taking on additional responsibilities.

The changes suggest ELC is looking to extract greater value from its luxury brands through a combination of leadership continuity, internal talent development and portfolio coordination.

That approach is particularly significant given the breadth of ELC's portfolio. Beyond Estée Lauder and La Mer, the company owns a collection of major prestige and luxury names including Jo Malone London, Le Labo, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, Kilian Paris, Tom Ford, Aerin Beauty and other brands. Its products are sold in approximately 150 countries and territories.

The appointments also underscore the importance of cross-category expertise within ELC's leadership ranks. Fragrance, skin care and makeup increasingly intersect within prestige beauty, with consumers moving between categories and brands and luxury houses expanding their olfactory, color and treatment offerings. Both Parksuwan and Boxford have experience spanning multiple beauty categories, while Kwok's remit has included product development alongside marketing and growth.

Main is scheduled to retire effective December 31, 2026, following a three-decade career with ELC.
