For the most part, Michael Jordan’s most iconic Air Jordan sneakers are those that he wore on the court as a member of the Chicago Bulls. And while the Bulls-themed white, black and red colorways are most commonly associated with Jordan’s legacy, there were a handful of outliers released during the line’s original run. One of those pairs, the rarely seen Sport Blue Air Jordan 6 from 1991, is set to return in 2027, and it’s bringing along original Nike Air branding details for the first time ever in reissue form.

According to @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, the Air Jordan 6 Retro OG Sport Blue will be released next fall. The style is one of five original Air Jordan 6 colorways released in 1990 and 1991 alongside the sneaker’s White/Infrared, Black/Infrared, Maroon and Carmine colorways.

While many of the styles have been released on numerous occasions over the years, the Sport Blue and Maroon have been far less frequently seen, with just one reissue each in 2014 and 2015, respectively. And although the Maroon reissue featured OG-style Nike Air branding, it wasn’t featured on the Sport Blue release just one year prior — an omission Nike will reportedly seek to correct on the forthcoming 2027 drop.

With a smooth white leather upper packed with perforations for breathability, the Sport Blue colorway gets its name from the coloring across the sneaker’s midsole and on its branding and details. Black is the only other accent color, seen on the iconic hole-punched tongue and on the spoiler-inspired heel tab. The look is finished off with an icy translucent rubber outsole.

Unlike the aforementioned 2014 release, the Air Jordan 6 Retro OG Sport Blue’s second-ever reissue will come with more true-to-spec Nike Air heel stitching. Further details have not yet been confirmed, but fans can also anticipate original-style packaging.

The Air Jordan 6 Retro OG Sport Blue will be released during fall 2027 for a retail price of $215 from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers. A style code for the upcoming reissue has not been confirmed, but the 2014 iteration’s SKU was 384664-107 with a full colorway of White/Sport Blue/Black.
