Bespoke Post, a men’s retailer that got its start as a subscription box, is launching a capsule collection developed in partnership with the James Dean estate.

The multiseason offering will kick off with more than 20 pieces of apparel and accessories that are modern interpretations of classic Dean pieces such as a white T-shirt, a leather motorcycle jacket and a cowboy hat. Bespoke Post worked with key American brands on the capsule including Stetson for the classic Western hat that was inspired by the model Dean wore in his final film, “Giant,” and Schott NYC on the Perfecto leather jacket, which was based on patterns from the brand’s archives. There are also Harrington jackets, Breton knits, flannel overshirts, jewelry, fragrance and home goods.

Bespoke Post worked with stylist Mark Avery, an authority on vintage American workwear, and designer Andrew Livingston to create the collection under the brand’s Fieldworth private label. Prices range from $38 to $1,525.

“Nothing Dean wore was calculated, and it still holds up 70 years later,” said Rishi Prabhu, cofounder of Bespoke Post. “That’s the bar we hold our own products to — things worth keeping, not hype. The estate got that immediately, and this is only the first chapter.”

Natalie Finch, director of partnerships at Bespoke Post, added: “The real inspiration came in Fairmount, Ind. Spending time on James Dean’s family farm, seeing the things he left behind and learning about the person beyond the icon gave us a different perspective. We weren’t trying to recreate a legend — we wanted to honor the authenticity that made him timeless. That philosophy carries through in the design. The Fieldworth pieces balance American silhouettes with subtle European influence and incorporate thoughtful details like tubular knit construction and archival hardware without feeling overly literal.”

“We weren’t interested in costumes,” Livingston said. “It was about taking those references and making them feel natural today — pieces that nod to how Dean dressed, but ultimately give the wearer something they can make their own.”

The initial James Dean by Bespoke Post drop debuts on Wednesday on the Bespoke Post website with a second drop to follow on Oct. 9, the eve of the 70th anniversary of “Giant.”
